It's a direct replacement with a higher voltage and longer life however it's not a direct plug in. The keyboard has to be removed.

I bought this battery to replace an OEM MSI GT75 8RG battery, that I had bought about a year ago. The last battery was absolute garbage from the time I had it installed. The old battery would last maybe 30 Min to go from fully charged to 3%. I was hesitant to buy an aftermarket battery to power my laptop. So far I have had this battery installed for about a month now. I am very pleased with this battery, I can use my computer while it's not plugged into the charger for a lot longer than my old one. If you want a good replacement battery, than I would recommend this one.

As far as I know, this is a good battery. The fit was "tighter" than the original, but it worked. I mostly use my laptop as a desktop, so I store the battery for weeks at a time. No idea yet how it will perform, since right now it's got an 80% charge and is sitting in my desk drawer. If I get 7 or 8 years out of it, I'll be pleased.
